Artificial Womb
In this artificial era where the public gets used to the fact that everything is media, the profound transformation of intelligence has given birth to many new business forms and services. However, in the human-machine relationship, if rationality is placed in the lag zone, this reform will constrain human society's development. After researching in vitro reproduction technology, I found that more than 80% of people support it. Moreover, this technology has already been conceived and structured in early society, which implies the control of capital and power over people.
Life forms powered by machines challenge the red lines of human society's ethics and origins. Based on this, I reconstructed the artificial womb installation using the existing machine as the prototype. The Arduino temperature and humidity sensor shows real-time monitoring of the infant's condition and the process of cultivating the fetus. A video of the experiment and a guidebook showing early, mid, and late pregnancy data are used to assist in the introduction. The purpose of this project is to urge the audience to rationally examine the future development of this technology in an environment where everyone is accustomed to the convenience brought by technology and machines and trigger the artistic, speculative discussion on the transformation of the complex common subject of science and technology ethics and the human-machine relationship.
