Verbal Abuse By Teachers
In China, many students face verbal abuse from teachers, especially in primary and secondary schools in areas lacking educational resources. This issue stems from deep-rooted authoritarian attitudes dating back to feudal times. It's viewed as a teaching disease caused by dissatisfaction with the education system and incorrect professional attitudes, allowing teachers to misuse their authority. To highlight the negative impact of this behavior, I created a visual project using a magneto-fluid sound visualization device to showcase the harmful effects of teachers' verbal violence, depicted through the distorted images of a teacher's mouth during abusive moments. This work aims to prompt reflection on the acceptability of such behavior and its impact on student progress, urging society and the education system to address and reduce verbal abuse by teachers.
